30 Day Prayer 4 Your Marriage Challenge Day 6
Pray for humility
Pray that you would humbly admit when your desires have turned into expectations that you are unfairly holding over your spouse. Repent of these unrealistic expectations and pray that God would give you a heart that is less centered on yourself and more focused on serving God and your spouse. Pray for your spouse to let go of self-centered thinking.
Ephesians 4:2 "With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love;"
Romans 12:16 "Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits."
Colossians 3:18-19
18 "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord."
19 "Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them."
This is the 6th day of the 30 marriage challenge and I hope we all are seeing some results. Prayer changes things. The scriptures today touch on how to demonstrate love to one another, being long suffering and of the same mind. Submission...a word almost always mistaken in a marriage. We are to love each other and respect each other no matter how hard it gets. Keeping God first will keep us on the right track. Admitting fault and being realistic along with repentance in our marriage will help too. Sometimes we expect too much and when it's not done how we wanted it, it causes problems. Communication is key in every relationship. We can't change our spouses, God has the recipe for that if there is any. Join us again tomorrow for day 7.Remember to pray for your friends from day 5, God bless.
