30 Day Prayer 4 Your Marriage Challenge Day 29
Pray God would strengthen your marriage for the years ahead
Pray he would grow you closer through any trials you face. Pray that the fruit of the Spirit would prevail during hardships. Take some time to pray for each element of the fruit of the Spirit-- peace, love, joy, faithfulness, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control—pray for abundance in these areas.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Galatians 4:22-23
22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a free woman.
23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the free woman was by promise.
**Write: What are some of the hopes and dreams you have for your future with your spouse and
(if you have any) children? Where do you see God at work in your lives? Has this month of prayer revealed in particular areas you feel the Spirit leading you to continue praying for? If so, write down a pledge of commitment to pray for another month about those particular things.
Every marriage has it's testing ground. There are trials and tests that we will need to be strong for. There are things that may arise that we are not ready for. The lady who found out her husband committed adultery, the man who isn't in love with his wife and is unhappy, and the couple who is tormented daily by their child's death. All real life issues, all things we have control of to give to God. Patience, endurance, belief, hope, and prayer. If we trust God with our lives, and we choose to serve Him no matter what, then we automatically release everything to Him for our benefit. God gave us free will, Abraham had a choice, he didn't have to sleep with the bond maid, but he did, at his wife's command. Then a son was born, from the flesh, after that son came the son of a promise. Treat your marriage as the promise it is under God. Free will is free and ours, but Gods will is His and divine. Pray that truth along with the fruit of the spirit will develop and grow and manifest in your lives. Join us tomorrow for day 30, God bless.
