30 Day Prayer 4 Your Marriage Challenge Day 23
Pray for patience
Pray for God to give both you and your spouse a fresh set of eyes toward the things that often drive you crazy or frustrate you about one another. Pray for gratitude for all the wonderful qualities in your spouse- and that God would help you focus on those things to keep you both moving forward. Also, pray for patience toward yourself- that you wouldn’t be too hard on yourself but see yourself rightly in light of who God is. If there is something you are both waiting or longing for, pray that God would bring good fruit from your patient waiting.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Proverbs 14:29 "He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Ephesians 4:2 "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;"
Patience, that thing we all pray for more of. But are we really willing to be patient? Most married couples have things that drive us bananas about each other. No marriage is perfect, and prayer should always be the center of every marriage. The scriptures above talk about charity, wrath, and forbearing one another in love. Each has it's own level of patience involved. Remember to be thankful for the good in your spouses and pray for the problem areas in your marriages. Patience is a virtue after all. Join us for day 22 tomorrow, God bless.
