Summer Devotionals

Today's devotional is from 

Galatians 5:16-17

16  I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

 

17 For the flesh lust against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. NKJV

The enemy is tricky. He is literally on the prowl to make us fall and mess up all the time. But if we walk in the spirit we won't fulfill the lust of the flesh, if we give in to our flesh then we sin. So to keep ourselves from falling into sin and lusting after the fleshly things of the world we must make sure that we stay walking in the spirit. Paul said in scripture that what I don't want to do, I do, and what I want to do I don't do. 

Romans 7: 16-20

15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 

16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 

17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 

19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 

20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. NKJV

Even Paul had experienced the fight with the flesh. He understood and tried sharing with us about walking in the spirit because in us dwells no good thing, and we WILL sin. The walking in the spirit will keep us from sinning and the more we practice that walk, the less we have time to practice sin and having it dwell in US.

As with every post, I would like to extend an invitation to anyone that wants to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. If this is you today, just recite this prayer. 

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and surrender my life to you. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. That he died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my victory. I believe it my heart and make confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

If you recited this prayer, then you are saved according to Romans Chapter 10 verses 9 and 10. If you don't have a church, please search for a good Bible teaching, truth speaking church. Pray and ask God to send you to the right church, He will answer. I am so proud of you and I would like to welcome you to the family. The angels in heaven are rejoicing for you.
