~ Summer Devotionals 2025 ~
Get ready for our Summer Devotional. This is the season for vacations, beaches, family gatherings, and of course devotions. Don't forget to spend some time with Jesus this summer, and Ur Beauty 4 Ashes Women's Ministry.
Our devotional scripture is James 1:12-13
12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. 13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. NLT
Have you ever felt like a trial lasted too long, and you just couldn't find a way of escape from this trial? God prefers that we grow and mature as we go through our trials and life lessons. Our temptations are on us. Either we fall or we keep on rolling. We have that decision to make for ourselves. God is not evil and would never tempt us. That is all on us.
Kelly was just starting a new job, she also was just out of high school and back from a 3 year break in life before choosing to become an active adult. Kelly was the type of girl that thought all good things were good and fell into the area of life as needed. She was never the type to be in charge of anything. So as she started this new job in a local book store, she was put in charge of the religious department. Oh, Kelly was also a new Christian and the book store was a Christian book store.
Starting this job was a big deal for her and she wanted to make her parents proud. Kelly wasn't always the best daughter, and she definitely did not win any prizes for best acting daughter either. She came to Christ after she came back from her trip of 3 years. Almost 21, she had the mindset that starting anything early was the answer to success. The bookstore owner was a member of the church, and he was very actively involved. The store wasn't that big, but it was big enough. Kelly reported for duty and met with Chad, the owner. He had her filling a new shelf of bibles and Christian books. As the day went on Kelly finished her project with the bookshelves and went on to take her lunch. Chad came up to her and asked her if she would like to join him for lunch.
After lunch Kelly went back to the bookstore she got a call from one of her friends from high school. She asked if she could meet her later to talk over dinner she told her she could. Kelly met her friend at a local coffee shop and her friend told her that her husband left her and that she was pregnant. Kelly was shocked but try to look as if she wasn't, she told her friend that everything would be okay. She asked her she would like to go to church with her on Sunday her friend accepted her invitation. Plethora friend accepted our invitation to church Kelly went home and got ready to end her day. After her shower she sat at her desk and she began to pray for her friend. While she prayed she also thanked God for saving her from a relationship where she could have ended up in the same situation had she not broken get off. Temptation is always present and Kelly knew that she feel bad for her friend but she know that God could fix it for her. Can we understood that God never tempts us to do wrong that's something we do all by ourselves and that He blesses us when we endure test with temptations.
Kelly and her friend went to church Sunday and that Sunday her friend gave her life to Christ Kelly realized then that she wanted to further her relationship with God and she also realized that she was a sinner saved by grace.
Like Kelly we are to share the gospel with others and be available to help when we can. Scripture is our lifeline and the scripture James 1:12 -13 was a lesson for Kelly and for us as well to realize that we are on our own when it comes to temptation and that God will never tempt us. But He will bless us for enduring temptation.
As with every post I would like to extend an invitation to anyone that wants to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. If this is you today, just recite this prayer.
Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and surrender my life to you. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. That he died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my victory, I believe that in my heart and make confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Lord and savior.
If you recited this prayer, then you are saved according to Romans Chapter 10 verses 9 and 10. If you don't have a church, please search for a good Bible teaching, truth speaking church. Pray and ask God to send you to the right church, He will answer. I am so proud of you and I would like to welcome you to the family. The angels are rejoicing in heaven for you.
I am available if you need someone to communicate with you. You can email me at beingmirandak@urbeauty4asheswm8.com. Have a very blessed and productive day. Remember, I love you with the love of the Lord! See you next post. 💕😊💕
