Day Four: Growing in Discernment

Scripture Reading

Malachi 2:7  

"For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts."

James 1:5–6 

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

 John 17:15

"I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil."

***Pray that your pastor will counsel and teach with discernment through the wise use of Scripture and faith in God’s power to work. Pray that he will be protected from the effects of sinful or negative attitudes that he encounters as he counsels.

My prayer

Father I pray that Pastor Tom will be a good steward of the word you impart into him, give him discernment great and wide. Protect him as he counsels your people and keep him from the residue of sin and negativity that people may have attached to them. Thank you Lord for a committed leader and a Shepard who cares for his flock. Keep him Lord as your faithful servant. In Jesus name, Amen.
