Welcome back to "Bible In A Year Series".  Its Wednesday January 22, 2025. This is our 4th week of the year. I hope you are enjoying the journey. Let's continue in the book of Genesis.

The Book of GENESIS Chapters 6 -8

Remember Genesis is the 1st book of the Law. The 1st week of the series we learned that it's also known as the Torah or the Pentateuch. Genesis in the Greek means - Origin, Source, Generation or Beginning. This book is about God's creation of earth and mankind. It's filled with stories of people in the bible who God spoke to and used for His Glory. You can read along as we go through the chapters for yourself.

Genesis Chapter 6 & 7~ The Great Flood
The Lord told Noah to take his family into the ark because they were found to be righteous in God's sight. God told Noah to take 7 each of every clean animal, make and female, 2 of each unclean animals, male and female, also 7 each of the birds male and female to keep the species alive. He let Noah know after 7 days it was going to rain 40 days and 40 nights and that He was destroying every living thing he made. Noah did as God commanded, he was 600 years old when the flood took place.
On the same day Noah, his wife, sons and his sons wives all entered the ark with animals, cattle, birds. and the the creeping things. They went onto the ark 2 by 2 as the commanded and the Lord shut them inside.

The flood was for 40 days and 40 nights, the water increased and the ark was lifted high above the grounds. As the water got higher, all flesh died that moved on the earth. Man, animals, birds, cattle, and creeping things. Only Noah and his family on the ark remained alive for the 150 days that it rained.

Genesis Chapter 8 ~ Noah's Deliverance
The Lord remembered Noah and all of the animals of the earth. The waters stopped after 150 days. The ark rested on the 17th day on the mountains of Ararat. On the 10th month, the 1st day the mountain tops were seen. Noah opened the window of the ark and sent out a Raven that went back and forth til the waters died up. Then he sent a Dove to see if there was a place to land. The Dove came back she couldn't land. He sent the Dove out a second time after 7 days, and the Dove came back in the evening with a plucked olive leaf in her beak. After another 7 days, he sent the Dove out again and it didn't return back to him. In the 601st year , 1st month, and 1st day of the month the waters were dried up from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked at the dry ground. God told Noah to take his wife and sons and his sons wives out of the ark along with all of the animals, birds, cattle and creeping things of the earth so that they may go into the earth and be fruitful and multiply.

God's Covenant With Creation
Noah built and alter to the Lord and took a clean animal and clean bird and gave a burnt offering the to the Lord. The Lord smelled the soothing aroma and said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; nor again will I destroy every living thing as I have done.

In these 2 chapters the Lord used Noah to replenish the earth after destroying it because of mans evil ways. He gave Noah instructions and he followed them as he was commanded to do and went forth and with the new grounds replenished the earth with all the living things.
