Bible In A Year~ January 2025

Happy New Year guys, it's the start of a new year and as promised, we are going to go through the bible together. Today is Wednesday January 1, 2025 and it's going to be so much fun doing this Bible journey. Let's get started with the 1st book of the Law. Genesis through Deuteronomy make up the books of the Law, also known as the Torah or the Pentateuch. Centered around God's creation and the laws passed down to guide His people. Genesis Chapter 1 & Chapter 2

Genesis Chapter 1

The history of creation. God created the heavens and the earth, light, darkness, the firmament, dry land, sea, grass, fruit trees, night and day, stars, sea creatures, winged birds, beasts of the earth, cattle, and everything that creeps.

Then God made man, gave him dominion over the sea and the birds, and every living thing that moved on the earth. He created male and female and told them to be fruitful and multiply. God saw everything he made and it was good.

Genesis Chapter 2

God rested on the 7th day. He blessed it and sanctified it. God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and he put Adam there. God put there trees that were pleasant in sight and good for food. In the garden of Eden was the tree of Life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There was a river in Eden to water the garden which parted into four riverheads. The Pishon, The Gihon, The Hiddekel, and the Euphrates. God put Adam in the garden of Eden to tend it and keep it. He told him he could eat of every tree freely except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He told him if he ate from that tree he would die.

God thought that it was not good for man to be alone so he created a helper for Adam. God had Adam to name every beast of the field and every bird of the air and whatever he called them that would be their name.

God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam and he took one of his ribs and closed up his flesh. From the rib he made a woman and bought her to Adam. Adam said,

This is now bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh. They were both naked and not ashamed.

So chapters 1 and 2 both talk about the creation of the heavens and the earth, animals, birds, and things that creep. Lastly it talks about man and woman.
