Hello ladies welcome to week 4 of " Women of the Bible "Blog Bible Study
The Study of the Book of Ruth Lesson 3 Chapter 3 1-10 / Chapter 4:1-6
Last week Ruth went in Boaz' threshinghold without him knowing as her mother in law instructed her to do.
So in our lesson today we find Boaz talking to Ruth about her kindness. He says her kindness is greater than before. He told her that he was far of kin, and another was closer. If the other kinsman didn't want to redeem then he said he would redeem the land. He told her to stay the night and in the morning early he told her to not let it be known a woman was in the threshinghold floor. He gave her six measures of barley to take back to Naomi. Ruth told Naomi how everything went and Naomi instructed her to wait til the matter was settled. The next day Boaz went and sat at the town gate waiting for the other kinsman he spoke about to Ruth. He had him sit and gathered 10 other elders of the town. They discussed the land. He explained to them that Naomi had returned to sell her husband land along with her daughter in law Ruth. He also explained that bringing the matter to them was only fair and if they didn't want to buy to let him know and he would. He told the kinsman that the land came with the widow, the kinsman said he couldn't it, it would endanger his own land. He told Boaz to take it.
He we have Boaz trying to sell the land and if its not sold he promised to take it. He was still doing good deeds for Ruth, trying to sell her father in laws land and marry off her mother in law.
