ALONE TIME WITH GOD FOR THE BUSY WOMAN: A Devotional Bible Study
Welcome to WEEK 2 of Alone Time With God: For The Busy Woman. As much as we hate to admit it, we just don't know how to properly manage our time. Alot of us are full-time moms, have full-time jobs, and are just too tired at the end of the day to do the things we need to do for ourselves. Unwind, take a bubble bath, dinner, clean house, laundry etc... This list is a long one and it seems to never end. God honors what we do concerning Him.
God knows our hearts. He knows what we purpose to do and not to do. That's why it's important to study His word. With all the latest gadgets, we don't have to even read for ourselves. We have Bible Apps to read for us. Studying is different. We have to make time for that. If you fall off your schedule, just get up and start again where you left off.
Let's grab our journals, pens, highlighters, bibles, and get started.
WEEK 2
Monday- Matthew 11:28-30
"28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Because Jesus knows what we do and go through daily, He offers us to trade burdens with Him. He has compassion for our weakness and weariness. Only He can cover every sin, sorrow and give us rest from it. I find a certain comfort in that.
Tuesday-Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
We are to work along side with God in our walk with Him. We sometimes have to stand still, be quiet, and simply wait. God maintains his own honour, fulfills his own counsels, and supports his own interest in His moves. He uses us for the non believer to believe. So as we come to the end of our days, God is already there waiting for us to meet us where we are when we come to Him. People are put in our way to learn, partake or experience the different ways of Jesus. Although we are busy, we are used of God if we are willing.
Wednesday- Psalm 1:3
"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
A description of happiness or prosperity for us who turn from the way of sinners, and who delights in the law of God. A tree planted where its roots would have abundance of water. In our season God will bless us. Busy for Him, busy with life but uplifting His name everywhere.
Thursday-Galatians 6:9
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
We don't need to feel despair and exhausted, make excuses for our inability to serve God in our difficult times. But it's then that we need to know not to lose our motivation. Keep going in God and we will reap His blessings in our lives.
Friday-2 Thessalonians 3:11
"11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies."
Quite simply put, there are some people who we need not entertain. Those of us who see disorder, should stay away from it. A person of disorderly conduct is a person that causes problems. Paul pointed out the church of Thessalonica the 3 problems they had.
1.they are out of step with a biblical principle
2. they quit their jobs and sold their businesses and
3. they are busybodies.
Let's not become a disorderly person. gossiping, backbiting, lazy and trying to run people lives. Just because we are busy and can't find time for God doesn't make us the expert on other people and their lives. We should work on ourselves first, make time to study the word then we can better assist people in the correct orderly fashion.
